Tenova Goodfellow is pleased to announce that it has signed a licensing agreement with Professor Murray J Thomson and Salvador Rego Barcena of the University of Toronto to commercialize a new infrared emission spectroscopy optical sensor.

Tenova LOI Italimpianti is adding three further HPH® annealing bases, two heating hoods and two cooling hoods to the existing bell-type annealing plant of Ornasteel Enterprise in Malaysia. The Ornasteel plant is used for annealing cold-rolled steel strip with coil diameters up to 1850 mm, stack weights of 95 t per base and a stack height of 5300 mm in a hydrogen atmosphere.

Chung Hung Steel Co. (formerly Yieh Loong Enterprise) awarded LOI Italimpianti a contract to modernize its “Coil Cooling and Storage Unit (CCSU)" with a total of 48 final cooling stations. CCSUs are used to cool steel strip coils in a dehumidified atmosphere following annealing.

Tenova LOI Italimpianti is to modernize a total of ten annealing bases and five heating hoods for Arcelor  Eisenhüttenstadt GmbH. It is to be equipped with new hydraulic clamping systems to improve safety and oxygen sensors to monitor the furnace atmosphere. In addition, a decentralized combustion air supply system is to be installed to enhance energy efficiency.

LOI Italimpianti is replacing the existing control system of the bell-type annealing plant operated by Friedr. Gustav Theis Kaltwalzwerke GmbH in Hagen/ Westphalia by a Windows-based ProView® system.

Tenova Goodfellow is pleased to announce that it has signed a contract with St. Mary’s Cement to install and demonstrate Tenova’s Goodfellow EFSOP™ system at their Toronto plant, as part of a project partially funded by Sustainable Development Technology Canada (SDTC).

A contract was recently signed between PHB Weserhutte based in Gijon, Spain and Tenova Bulk Handling for the design and supply of nr. 3 pipe conveyors to be installed in the BP (British Petroleum) Coke Handling System Plant in Castellon (Valencia-Spain).

The new EAF will be integrated with a Consteel® system, the continuous preheating system patented by Tenova, and will reach the world-wide highest capacity for a single furnace: 300 t/hr with 100% scrap feeding.

The “giant” stacker reclaimer in operation at Carajas iron ore mines designed by Tenova Bulk Handling and manufactured by CONFAB under a contract awarded in Autumn 2003, will be shifted sideways of approx. 2 m. from its original place onto new rail tracks so as to make room for a new conveyor system to be built in the future.

Tenova Goodfellow is pleased to announce that it has received one order for Goodfellow EFSOP™ from Ternium Hylsa, Monterrey Plant. The system will be installed in a scrap preheating finger shaft furnace which operates with scrap and continuous DRI pellet meltdown conditions.
