Midway through 2008, Thyssen Krupp Acciai Speciali Terni SpA, asked Tenova Strip Processing to transfer its stainless steel annealing and pickling line no. 4 from Turin to Terni.

Vallourec & Sumitomo Tubos do Brasil Ltda. has recently awarded to Tenova ITALIMPIANTI DEUTSCHLAND GMBH in Düsseldorf, a Company of Tenova LOI Italimpianti, the contract for engineering, fabrication, supervision of erection and commissioning relevant to 4 reheating  furnaces to be installed in the new pipe mill in Minas de Gerais, Belo Horizonte (Brazil).

Tenova TAKRAF  Italy has recently  won a contract for the New Lump Iron Ore stockyard of  Ternium Siderar Plant, San Nicolas, Argentina.

Effective October 1st, 2008 Tenova has finalized the acquisition of the controlling interest of Core Furnace Systems Corp., (CORE) a Company located in Pittsburgh, PA and leader in the North American market for the design and supply of industrial furnaces for reheating and heat treatment, carbon processing and electric smelting and refining furnaces as well as melt shop equipment and services.

At the end of last August Tenova Pyromet received the signed contract from Balasore Alloys – part of the Ispat Group of Companies owned by Mittal – for the supply of the lower electrode equipment to be installed in the 16,5 MVA ferrochrome furnace under construction by Balasore in the state of Orissa, India

Tenova Pyromet's footprint is making an impact in Brazil. A contract has been finalized with a major global player on the mining market based in Brazil for the supply of complete Electrode Columns for 2 furnaces of a plant located in northern Brazil.

Tenova TAKRAF, through Tenova-Semf (Australia), has just completed the final deliveries of the Structural, Mechanical and Electrical components for the Lake Vermont Coal Stacker respecting the tight delivery time of 24 weeks from Award of Contract.

Tenova TAKRAF, through Tenova-Semf (Australia), has just received the order from Sedgman for the Supply of two identical Radial Coal Stackers for the new Daunia Mine in the Bowen Basin coal fields of far North Queensland.

Tenova TAKRAF, through Tenova-Semf (Australia), has recently  signed a contract for the design and supply of a luffing stacker with HWE Mining at RioTinto’s Mesa A iron ore operation, located 50 kilometres from Pannawonica in Western Australia’s Pilbara region.
