Tenova TAKRAF has specialized in plant systems for heap leaching ore, both on-off and permanent pads. We deliver complete systems for Heap-Leach-Operations. According to the character of the ore permanent or on-off leach pads need to be equipped with stacking and reclaiming technology. Permanent leach pads are stacked layer by layer with or without liners in between up to a fairly high final leach pad without reclaiming. Tenova TAKRAF designed the mobile equipment, which receives the small sized heap from an overland conveyor: Mobile Transfer Conveyor, Mobile Conveyor Bridges and Stackers.
In an on-off system the crushed ore (minus 20mm – minus 50 mm or coarser depending on ore type) is stacked at 7 – 10 m or higher, leached and then reclaimed. Reclaim rate of more than 11,000 tons per hour has been realized. Leaching periods of about 60 days require stockpile volumes as large as 15 million tons.

For On-Off Leach Pads Tenova TAKRAF developed a new generation of Mobile Conveyor Bridges with reduced number of segments and crawlers, and simplified maintenance and control. An on-off leach pad consists of a Mobile Stacking Conveyor Bridge (MSCB) receiving the heap from the incoming leach pad feed conveyor via tripper car. Tenova TAKRAFs Heap Leach Equipment works at several locations in Chile with capacities between 5000 m³/h and 7400 m³/h.
